Family to Family

Community Human Services of the Monterey Peninsula's Family to Family program is a community-based program working to change to public foster care system. With two locations (Seaside and King City), they recruit, train, and support resposible adults that wish to provide temporary foster care to local children, until they are able to return safely to their natural parents and/ or guardians. They also seek volunteers to support  the families, i.e. by offering their time to take a child to his or her medical appointments, providing free tutoring, mentoring, teaching a musical instrument, etc. You could even offer to take a child overnight and get a stipend for it. Training is provided for these individuals also. For more information on the program and to become involved in keeping more foster children in your community, please call the Community Liason, Adlin Velez-Terrell at 831-364-4622 or click here to visit their website.
