Q1: Who is your hero?

A: My mom. She is the root of my sense of humor.

Q2: What is your biggest fear?

A: Bombing. I mean, in the comedic sense. Being funny means everything to me. It always has.

Q3: What is your child’s proudest accomplishment?  

A: My son Xavier is currently happy about learning video editing.

Q4: What are your hobbies?

A: I’m a DJ.  I’ve mixed music on-air, in nightclubs, at corporate events, and weddings around the United States. The ability to reach a large audience and move the crowd with music, is a dream come true.

Q5: What’s your favorite holiday?

A: Thanksgiving. Football and food. How can you beat that? Plus, my Dallas Cowboys play every year.

Q6: What shows do you record on the DVR?

A: I love John Oliver on HBO’s Last Week Tonight

Q7: What’s your favorite movie?

A: The Shawshank Redemption

Q8: Do you collect anything?

A: Music. I’ve been collecting bits and pieces like stitches in a tapestry that will never be completed. I think in my DJ library, I have just over 10,000 songs. I am constantly weeding out stuff I don’t need or use. It is my garden and I tend to it with great vigor.

Q9: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

A: I am a professional extrovert. Meaning, if need be, you can hand me a microphone and I will entertain 10,000 people, no problem.  As for my personal life, I can be a fly on the wall, never needing the spotlight.  I can be alone and never be lonely.

Q10: Who was your favorite teacher in school and why?

A: Ms. Donna Smith taught English at Alisal High School and used an exercise of free writing that introduced me to my love of words.

Q1: What is your favorite family vacation?

A: Anywhere that my 2 girls and I go! We had a blast at Universal last year…. But really for me, anywhere with a hotel room and a pool!!

Q2: What song would you say best sums you up?

A: Here I go again on my own – Whitesnake??  I am recently divorced! 😊

Q3: What makes you laugh the most?

A: Anything.  I love to laugh and try to find fun in everything.

Q4: What shows do you record on the DVR?

A: Oh – 90 day fiancé… Mama June… Daily Show… The Kitchen… music award shows…. And I don’t always delete after watching… I save some!

Q5: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A: Well I kinda think I do that with breakfast! It’s always turkey sausage, eggs, zucchini mushrooms onions and cheese. Like every day.

Q6: How many pairs of shoes do you own?

A: 25.  How many do I actually wear… like 5

Q7: How many pillows do you sleep with?

A: 2. How many are on the bed? 5 😊

Q8: What’s your favorite holiday?

A: Used to be Christmas… there was always a big gathering xmas eve… but now it’s more Thanksgiving. And it’s really weird, but I LOVE to cook holiday meals!!  Every night dinner… not really, but holiday meals – yes!!

Q9: Are you a clean or messy person?

A: Clean!

Q10: Do you collect anything?

A: OMG… yes.  I have a severe cookbook obsession!!!  I am afraid to count how many I have but it’s very likely over 100.  I love to read thru them… get ideas…find recipes to cook.  Am I a good cook? Not really. But I try!!!

Q1: What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play?

A: I love tennis and have been playing since I was 7 years old. And just recently I became a USPTA Certified Tennis Teaching Pro. There’s something very addicting about smashing a tennis ball, and if you’re looking for an outlet for healthy stress relief, I think its tennis.

Q2: Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?

A: Yes, “Hollywood” was given to me in the 80s by another radio DJ because well, I lived that flashy lifestyle, and maybe because of a movie called “Top Gun”.

Q3: Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? And why?

A: I’ll take the money, thank you, and live life at a different pace, and stop obsessing about the tedious things rather than enjoying the big picture of “life”.  Money doesn’t necessarily buy you happiness, but managed responsibly, it doesn’t hurt either.

Q4: Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island?

A: My wife, of course (the safe answer. I know 😊

Q5: How would your friends describe you?

A: Hard working, passionate, determined, and overall nice and solid guy.

Q6: What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?

A: I think my recent hiking and climbing trip to the Red Rocks in Sedona.  I did things that I thought I couldn’t do, challenged myself like never and overcame fear.

Q7: If you had a warning label, what would yours say? 

A: Beware, I’m probably worrying about something 😊

Q8: Who was your first crush? 

A: Somebody I met at the roller-skating rink in between playing Asteroids.  Remember those “couples only” skates?

Q9: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

A: Like most “entertainers”, I think I’m somewhere in the middle between shyness, and outgoing.  I guess it all depends on the situation, and the people who I’m socializing with.

Q10: If you could join any past or current music group which would you want to join? 

A: Kool and the Gang.  (I hear you laughing).  They were such a fun party band whose songs were about positivity, hope, and good times!

Q1: What is your favorite family vacation? 

A: I love to camp! It’s what my family did when I was growing up and it’s a tradition I’ve loved passing on. A few years ago my husband and I got a motorhome. We have had such a great time exploring neighboring states. Paul drives the motor home and I usually follow with a passenger van. The young kids sleep in the coach but older children and friend’s tent camp. It’s always an adventure full of merriment and mishaps!

Q2: What would you change about yourself if you could? 

A: Well nothing really. I’m pretty happy with myself and my life. There are many others who probably wish I were more organized and not such a habitual mess-maker though!

Q3: What is your proudest accomplishment? 

A: My kids, my radio career, and the non-profit I founded, Point Hope – a voice for forgotten children.

Q4: What is your favorite book to read? 

A: The bible – followed by The Shack, by William P. Young.

Q5: What makes you laugh the most? 

A: Some of the outrageous practical jokes my friends and I have played on each other over the years, and my kids, who all seem to have wicked senses of humor.

Q6: If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?

A: I live my dream life every day; it’s full of kids, friends, family, animals, gardens, and radio!

Q7: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A: I don’t know about the entire meal, but homemade sourdough bread and pickled beets would be a part of it!

Q8: Who is your favorite author?

A: I don’t really have a favorite. I devour books. I often have 2-3 going at any given time.

Q9. If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?

A: 1978 to before I left home. I would savor the time I had with my older brother, my younger siblings, my parents and grandparents – all of whom have passed but my younger sister and brother. I’d envelope myself in that magical moment in time when I was entering adulthood, but still innocent to the ways of the world.

A: Kids! Animals, art, gardening, reading, cooking, making, talking, talking, talking!
